Somatic Breathwork w/Chad Carptener

Somatic Breathwork w/Chad Carptener

$60 if registered by Jan 21st, $70 after.

As we go through experiences in life, our bodies have an incredible capacity to remember those experiences. This empowers us to develop skills and abilities that empower us to flourish in life. The unfortunate part is, that ability to remember is not discerning so it also applies to stressful and traumatic experiences that we go through, and our bodies will physically store the trauma from that experience. This is why we can hear something, see something or smell something that can cause us to instantly remember a traumatic experience, even if it occurred decades ago. Our body remembers very well what happened, and even if we choose to forgive someone or to mentally release resentment or anger towards a person or experience, our body does not forgive and it does not forget. It will hold onto that stored trauma until we undergo a physical means to facilitate its release.

Somatic breathwork provides the necessary force required to facilitate that release. I like to think of this breathwork like plunging your toilet when it gets clogged. When we get all of this muck from our past stuck within us and we just can’t seem to let it go, this breath provides the level of force required to flush those things out.

We utilize an active breathwork technique which hyper-oxygenates the body and allows the perceiving, judging aspect of the mind to deactivate so it can finally release its grip over our traumas so that our body can finally, organically just process them.

We invite you to join us in experiencing the true transformational power of your breath. You are truly your greatest healer! Our sole purpose is to create a safe and secure environment for you to facilitate your own healing and transformation.

There are contraindications for the practice. You will want to consult your doctor before participating If you have any of the following; OCPD, high or abnormal blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, history of aneurysms, epilepsy or seizures, or severe asthma.

Sound Journey

The Settle into Stillness Ensemble is a collective of artists that unites the healing power of conscious relaxation with sacred sound. The group was formed in 2021, as an expansion of the work that Settle Into Stillness has been doing as a duo for 13 years, by Jeremy Arndt, Nancy Grzeszak, Parker Horsch, and Kimberly Joy Rieli. The ensemble was formed to infuse their diverse musical talents into a Sound Journey experience unlike anything the world has ever heard before and to share this experience with larger audiences across the globe.

The Settle Into Stillness Ensemble stands apart from the ever-growing landscape of mindfulness-based musical offerings. By seamlessly weaving together diverse world music instrumentation, such as the mesmerizing handpan, the enchanting didgeridoo, the angelic beauty of the harp, the gentle resonance of gongs, the ethereal tones of crystal singing bowls and setting it all to the backbeat of an eclectic variety of world percussion instruments, the ensemble has crafted a truly extraordinary experience. Each element is carefully chosen and delivered with intention, creating a symphony of soothing vibrations that nurture the mind, body, and soul. Their offerings create an immersive experience that transports participants towards a state of deep inner calm. Through carefully curated sessions, individuals are invited to release stress, let go of tension, and embark on a profound journey of self-exploration.

Each Sound Journey is a unique tapestry of sonic landscapes, woven together with love and a deep commitment to the individual’s well-being. The purity of sound permeates every cell, evoking a sense of harmony that soothes the spirit and opens doors to personal transformation.  The Settle Into Stillness Ensemble invites you to come experience one of their Sound Journeys, where the transformative fusion of these enchanting instruments and mindfulness practices will open doors to your innermost self.

Soothing Sandbags: Weighted Yin/Restorative with Terree

6:15 PM18:15

Soothing Sandbags: Weighted Yin/Restorative with Terree

If registered by 12/5, $70 includes one sandbag. $80 if registered after 12/5.

If you have your own sandbag, $50 if registered by 12/5, $60 after.

Terree will also have extra sandbags to purchase for $25 if you should wish  to have more than one for your own use.

Discover how to utilize weighted sandbags to enhance your practice. Just like a weighted blanket,  a sandbag can create a sense of grounding and contentment, as well as defuse sensory overload that we can experience in our more quiet and still yoga practices when we are seeking a calm and quiet mind. When used in  yin and restorative, we can create gentle heaviness onto the body that will allow the tissues to surrender to a deeper level and create an energetic grounding sensation that will leave you feeling more calm connected to yourself.  Ultimately, we may be able to connect more deeply to the calming of the parasympathetic nervous system.

Terree will guide you through a practice of yin and restorative postures that will enable you to discover new ways to use these props to enhance your experience.  The weight of the sandbags will help reduce resistance and allow the body to melt into a deeper state of passivity.

Included in the workshop is a 10 lb sandbag for you to take home and knowledge of how to use this prop at home and at the studio on your own.

As new moms, we know things don't always go to plan, so we are incredibly understanding of our recovering bodies and the fact that one of the babies could be having a cranky day. Whatever comes out way, we roll with it.

Our 60 minute class includes circle time where we discuss our latest successes and struggles with motherhood, interacting with our baby by giving them connection and engaging time with mom, and poses to help you rebuild that pelvic floor and core strength.

It is our recommendation that new mothers wait the doctor recommended 6 weeks before starting yoga. You need no yoga experience, just bring yourself in some comfy clothes, a mat, a blanket, and your baby.

You do not need to bring your baby to class if you would rather not, but understand we will have babies and all the noises both good and bad that entails.

Flow, Rest, & Reset: A 4 Week Yoga Nidra Experience with Jennifer Haas

$100 for the series of 4,
$30 drop in.

Join Jennifer for a 4 week, healing and relaxing yoga Nidra and meditation journey.

Yoga Nidra is a gentle and specific guided method of meditation that moves your awareness into a deep state of rest while remaining alert. Yoga Nidra happens in an alert state of consciousness just before dreaming, and encourages a non-sleep deep rest, where the mind and body are fully relaxed. Yoga Nidra integrates meditation with affirmation, body-sensing, subtle breath-work, as well as working with feelings, emotions and guided imagery. When practiced regularly, people experience calmer thoughts, lower blood pressure, increased immunity, more restful sleep, improved memory, reduced chronic and acute pain, and a lift in overall well being.

This class is quiet and introspective, with plenty of time to breathe and develop connection to inner knowing that is always present.

Format:
Each 60 minute session will begin with guided breath work to harness the energy of the mind, along with a few gentle movements to release any muscular tension, preparing you to be more spacious and receptive to the subtle body. You will then be guided through a meditation leading into yoga Nidra. Low lighting, ambient music, gentle healing sounds, and aromatherapy are some of the tools that will be used to amplify your experience. Leave feeling calm, refreshed, and revitalized.

Week 1: Permission to Rest (iRest)
Week 2: Balancing Opposites
Week 3: Steadiness and Support for Autumn Season
Week 4: A Crystal Beach

INVERSION WORKSHOP w/Jenn Hass

$40 if registered by Sep 16th, $50 after

This 2 hour all levels workshop will focus on de-mystifying some of the questions and concerns that come up with inversion postures. Inversions are generally taken with the head down, but not always with the feet up. Inversions are not only handstands and headstands; inversions are anytime the head is below the heart.

In this class, we will explore the many types of inversions our bodies can take, focusing on building proper foundation and understanding the relationships between the hands, the shoulders, the pelvis, the core muscles, and the breath.  We will explore several warm ups that strengthen the primary movers for inversions, and practice inverting safely and with control.

This is an all levels class with some yoga experience suggested.
